History of the news industry
LO: critically evaluate the impact of technology in the newspaper industry.
News is stuff thats happened somewhere and is being told to other people in the world. you can listen to news through Radio and tv. You can also read about news online and in newspaper.
Disadvantages of the news being a commercial industry:
1960s news paper case studies.
LO: critically evaluate the impact of social, cultural, political and historic contexts on newspapers. ( 1960s )
LO: identify examples of 1960s political segmentations.

Differences between Tabloid and Broadsheet Newspapers.
Tabloids are less formal and have more pictures. Tabloids offer news as entertainment. They give news about celebrities and less serious news.
Broadsheets are more formal and produce more serious news. Broadsheets use very little pictures and less headlines.
Newspapers in the 1960s was threatened by TV. They could watch the news instead of buying and reading a newspaper.
Sunday newspaper circulation figures had dropped by 30%.
